Spring table decor

Spring brings plenty of reasons to celebrate, so a pretty spring vase centerpiece is a simple way to brighten your dining table or entryway. Combining green moss, soft pastel filler, and tall spring stems creates a light, fresh look that works with many decor styles.

This centerpiece is quick to assemble — you can have it ready in minutes — and it immediately adds seasonal charm to any room.

The vase itself is the focal point of this centerpiece. For a pastel moss arrangement you’ll want a clear vessel so the layered colors and textures show through. I used a tall glass cylinder, but other options work well too:

  • Large mason jar
  • Fluted vase
  • Several smaller cylinder vases grouped together

Choose a clear, smooth container so the pattern you create with moss and pastel filler is easily visible and looks polished.

Spring vase fillers

To highlight the vase, select complementary vase fillers that add color and texture. For my arrangement I used green moss and pastel Styrofoam filler. You can mix and match materials depending on the look you want. Ideas include:

  • Spanish moss
  • Moss balls
  • Moss-covered rocks
  • Glass gems
  • Decorative stones
  • Painted rocks or shells
  • Colorful pebbles
  • Mini Easter eggs
  • Colored rice

Experiment with layers, colors, and textures to create a custom look that suits your space. A layered effect of moss and pastel filler gives depth and visual interest when viewed through a clear vase.

Spring centerpiece flowers

If you want the vase to remain the star, choose tall, understated stems that add height without overwhelming the interior pattern. Simple fronds or long floral stems work best. Consider these spring blooms if you want a bit more color:

  • Tulips
  • Daffodils
  • Lilies
  • Lavender
  • Cherry blossoms
  • Peonies

Place just a few stems so the arrangement looks airy and elegant. The goal is balance: a visible, attractive filler pattern inside the vase with soft floral accents above.

Supplies:

  • Tall clear glass vase
  • Pastel Styrofoam vase filler (or similar colorful filler)
  • Green moss
  • Spring fronds or tall stems

Instructions:

1. Tear off a small piece of green moss and place it in the bottom of the vase. Press it down so the top is relatively flat and even.

2. Add a layer of pastel vase filler on top of the moss.

3. Repeat alternating layers of moss and pastel filler until the vase is filled to the desired height.

4. Arrange a few spring fronds or stems in the vase so they extend above the rim. Keep the stems sparse so the layered filler remains visible.
