Get Your Healthy On

Kiwifruit is an excellent source of vitamin C—often higher per serving than the same amount of orange—and also provides vitamin K, vitamin E, fiber, potassium and folate while remaining low in calories. Mango adds more vitamin C and vitamin A, along with B vitamins, fiber and potassium, giving this smoothie a nutrient-rich boost.

What Are Hemp Seeds?

This smoothie includes hemp hearts, the shelled seeds of the hemp plant. They are different from marijuana and contain negligible THC, so they are safe to use as a food ingredient. Hemp hearts are a great source of easily digestible, complete protein, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, iron and vitamin E. They’re naturally gluten-free and add creaminess, protein and healthy fats to smoothies—store them in an airtight container in the fridge to prolong freshness.

A creamy, antioxidant-rich smoothie like this one is a simple way to support immunity, energy and satiety.

Note: Some people react to fresh mango skin due to compounds related to poison ivy; if you have a known sensitivity, you may tolerate frozen mango better. When in doubt, consult your healthcare provider.
